Through its Enel Green Power business line, Enel Colombia announced the start of commercial operations for its solar parks named "La Loma" and "Fundación." The company confirmed that the required technical and regulatory tests have been completed.
La Loma contributes around 150 MW of effective net capacity and is one of the largest solar projects in Colombia. This plant, inaugurated last February, is located in El Paso, Cesar. It has 400,000 panels spread across 387 hectares, generating 420 GWh/year. This installed capacity can meet the energy needs of at least 600,000 people, equivalent to the population of a city like Bucaramanga, according to the company. The construction of these projects employed 1,720 people, with at least 77% from the region.
The Fundación Solar Park, located in the municipality of Pivijay in Magdalena, also began its commercial operations. It has an effective net capacity of 90 MW, providing the country with 267 GWh/year. It will be inaugurated in the coming weeks.
